Quickbase Ending Support for Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11)

Starting on November 1st, 2021 Quickbase will no longer support Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11). With Microsoft announcing their upcoming retirement of IE11, Quickbase will be prioritizing modern web browsers to provide a better overall customer experience. Using modern browsers to access the Quickbase platform is also important in delivering a secure experience. As builders create more data and visual rich applications, secure and modern browsers allow our teams to focus on improving customer experiences and future innovation using modern technologies.

Quickbase works best with recent versions of browsers like: Chrome, the new Microsoft Edge (based on Chromium), Firefox, and Safari. We recommend users switch to the latest version of one of these browsers to get the best experience ahead of the November 1st, 2021 end of support.

What does this mean for users?

Users may be able to continue to access Quickbase using Internet Explorer 11 after November 1st , 2021. However, the latest technologies we leverage in building new Quickbase features will not always be supported in this version and updates might be needed that could prevent IE11 from accessing Quickbase. Further, when we develop new functionality it will no longer be tested on IE 11. This means that our Care team will not be able to troubleshoot issues related to using Quickbase with unsupported browsers.

How we are informing users

To assure users of Quickbase are ready for the upcoming change we have already started displaying a message within Quickbase for users on IE11. You can see an example of the message below. Currently, once viewed, a user can dismiss this message and it will not reappear.

This image shows the warning banner that appears to users still using IE 11 to access Quickbase

Starting on July 1st, 2021, for any users who are still accessing the Quickbase platform using IE11, the message will reappear even if it was previously dismissed. Once dismissed, the message will appear again after 7 days. This will continue until October 15th when our permanent banner for end of support will go live. This banner will stay in place and reappear any time a user accesses Quickbase using IE11 with instructions on changing to a supported browser to assure they can make the needed changes to access the platform.
