HELP NEEDED with matching fields

  • 1.  HELP NEEDED with matching fields

    Posted 23 days ago

I have a following problem in one of my QB tables and I was hoping you could assess, if this can be solved with QB tools / features.

    • Table "Security Center"  has a field Issue(rich text), which looks like below.
    • Table "Site Users", which has a field User ID (text).

My objective is to "flag" or "mark" a record in Security Center, if Issue has User ID, which matches a User ID in Site Users table.

Is this doable with QB using the current data structure and how?

    Appreciate your help.

Can you provide examples of some Security Issues?   Is there a pattern to the data as to where the userid is located?

Samples of entry in "Security Center" Table ,"Issue" field. (rich text)

Issue:   User XR2323 has an external authentication.

Samples of entry in Table "Site Users", which has a field User ID (text).

    User ID: XR2323
    Login ID: xxxxxx
    User Group: KU
    Account Status: Active

Does this describe you table structure?

    In the table Security Center
The field Related Employee FN is a Formula Numeric Field  set it equal to the Related Employee

Now use Related Employee FN as the Reference Field in the Relationship between the Site Users and Security Center

When a record is created in the Security Center, it will be related to the Site Users record that matches the Related Employee in the Issue.

Now you can build reports in the Site Users Table for all the Security Issues related to them.
