## Color coding formula

• #### 1.  Color coding formula

Hi,

I'm trying to color code a report depending on a couple different fields. My formula isn't working, but i'm not sure what i'm missing. Any help would be great.

Field 1: [All info task] :  we want the record to be pink if it has a date.
Field 2: [internal due date] : we want the record to be pink if it doesn't have a date

Here's my formula

if(not isnull([all info task]) or [internal due date]= isnull, "#ff66ff")
)

np,
but I can only correct the portion of the formula that was posted as i can't copy and paste code from an image.
I assume that the field [all info task] is a text field type.

IF(Trim([all info task]) ="" or IsNull([internal due date]), "#ff66ff")

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your help on this. I did try that formula, but it's giving me an error due to the = in the formula. if(IsNull([all info task]) = ""
It's an operation '=' can't be applied on types bool, text error. Our all info task field is setup as a date type. I originally tried going this route, but I also got this error.

Sorry I was too rushed multi tasking.

IF(IsNull([all info task]) or IsNull([internal due date]), "#ff66ff")

Hi Mark,

No worries, I appreciate your help. correct my logical thinking if it's wrong, but won't that show the record pink if both the fields are blank? we want to set it up to where it shows pink if a field is filled in with a date while the other one to have the record show pink if the date is not filled in.
