Grid Edit drop downs

    Is there a trick to getting different dropdowns to show under different fields when it Grid Edit?  Or is it only possible when using edit in the form?

    I want to have a data entry person add a related "Provider" in this case, to 3 different provider fields while in Grid Edit.  Each of the 3 different Provider fields should only show the qualified list of providers for that skill set.  

    For example, Provider 1 should only show providers that can do the "A skill set", Provider 2 should only show providers that can do the "B skill set, etc.  Providers all come from the same table, so currently the dropdown is showing the whole list of all providers, instead of being able to refine the dropdown the way I can within the form using different reports to filter them.

    Yes, there is a trick.

    Make a new form called perhaps Grid Edit and have the fields be in the sequence of the columns you want to show in Grid Edit and  for the drop down fields you can specify, in the form properties,  reports to use with filters.

    Then set that "form" to be used for Grid Edit either globally or by report.
