Section Headers for Tables

    I was looking through the app exchange and found an app that has section headers on their tables. I looked into the settings but cannot figure out how they managed to do that. Does anyone know how you are able to implement this? I have attached a picture below of what I mean by "Section Headers".

    When you set up a table report, there is a configuration for Sorting and Grouping.  When you have a Group By, then  there are Heading breaks like that.

    When I go into the form settings I cannot find an option that says "Group By". My steps were as follows:
    1) Go to the table I wish to have heading breaks
    2) Click on the settings button
    3) Go to Reports and Charts
    4) Go to the report I wish to have heading breaks
    5) Go to Sorting and Grouping
    6) Change to Sort or Group on other fields. I could not find a setting that says "Group By"

    Are you editing table report type or a Summary Report type?  The sort options for a table report definitely have an option to Sort and Group by.  They are listed right after the Sort by.

    I am editing a table report type.

    The only options I have for Sort and Group by are shown below
    When I do this there are still no section headers

    Hi Tom,

    Section Headers are usually just text elements displayed on the form to help you organize how the fields are organized on a form and the display of data, they are not accessible in reports. Most likely in the case of the app you downloaded it sounds like they have a field (based on the values probably something like a stage or status field) that has values like their section headers. It sounds like they used the same or very similar names for their Section Headers and that field.

    Tom,

    In the screenshot you shared, where it says 'sort from low to high', in the dropdown is there an option for 'Sort and Group Low to High'? If so, choose that.
