    I have an app where the user creates an order and there is another table for the order line items.

    Currently, when entering the order on a form the user has to select "Save and Keep Working" to save the order before adding the individual line items.

    Is there a better way to do this?  There is an Add Product button on the form where the user enters the line item information.  Could something be added to that button to make it save the order first automatically?

    Here is the current URL for the Add product button.

    URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_LINE_ITEMS] & "?a=API_GenAddRecordForm&_fid_13=" & URLEncode ([Record ID#])& "&z=" & Rurl()

    Order form example attached.

    There are four solutions here.
    1. Enable the checkbox in Advanced Properties to save Parent Automatically when a child record is created.
    2. Read this thread here which says the same thing in the form of a very long rant :).
    3. Vote for this enhancement here
    4. Note that you can indeed enter child record on an unsaved parent record when the child table in open for editing in grid edit mode and the children will get connected to the parent upon saving the parent, so Grid Edit data entry of children is another option.

    Found the check box and that solved the problem.

    Voted for the enhancement too.

    Thanks for the quick help!
