Back on January 22nd a number of users reported that on lower resolution screens of Windows PCs they were seeing some fuzziness in the font. Anti-Aliasing to use the technical term. We're trying to track down if this is still occurring? Is anyone still experiencing these issues?

Yes,  It is awful.  I thought my eyesight was going bad.

    Hey Demitra,
Can you open a support case and provide information on your operating system, browser and screen resolution?

I believe I'm still seeing the issue--see how in the screenshot below, it's hard to distinguish the dot on the "i" in "Fields"?

Does this warrant opening a support case? I can certainly do so. Thanks.

I think the font is Gibson-SemiBold - looks better with Gibson-Regular

You appear to be correct--but it still looks fuzzier in QB than here:

Well you could use the same Service Worker in my demo to immediately patch it to your liking faster than QuickBase will implement a fix.

I'm very intrigued by your Service Worker stuff, but it's a bit over my head at this point. :)

Well live and learn. Apparently my Service Worker broke because the release value was changed sooner than I though:

    OLD

    New 2/1/2018
      https://assets.quickbasecdn.net/res/873e615-1493/css/themes/classic/nav.css

It is easy enough the fix this but what I was trying to do at the moment was substitute the font on the third table to Comic Sans MS with this simple code:

    var respModified = resp.replace(/74489D/g, "95ED64").replace(/Gibson-SemiBold/g, "Comic Sans MS");

So if you revisit the application and re-register the Service Workers you will now see Arial on the third table:

UPDATE : changed to Gibson-SemiBold to Comic Sans MS for easier recognition.

Nothing surprising but it will probably take a few iterations to determine the best practices.

Can we get the spacing for the dot on the letter "i", while you are at it...
they look like a lowercase  "L"

My feedback was also good but I beat you to it.

@Sam - just some feedback: the font Comic Sans MS appears to be working well.

It takes just a few minutes to make these changes through the Service Worker. How is progress on your end?

    Comic Sans ftw!

When I get a chance I will put some more robust code in the Service Workers. that will not be sensitive to the release version number and put the code in the Pastie Database.

Great News Sam!  The Google Boys just released Chrome 65 with the Local Override feature turned on so QuickBase users can just make local mods to their QuickBase files and persist their changes.

They also created and handy dandy Animated GIF to show us how to modify and persist the background of a page on their devtools page. That's Karma!

Is there ever going to be a fix for this issue? "i" and "l" still look the same, and there is also still a problem with a clear definition to the font being used. New glasses and zooming the screen never fixed it.

Yeah. We still have it, too.
