Automatically Enter Reference ID in Child Table

I have a parent table with only one record named Communication. Record ID# 1. It will always be only one record. When a new record is created in the Opportunities Table from another table the Related Communication has to be linked manually. Is there a simple way to populate it automatically. I have tried Form Rules, and Quickbase Actions with no luck.

    You are overthinking this.

    Just make the reference field on the right side of the Relationship be a formula numeric field with a formula which calculates to 1.  The formula is even simpler than Excel,  the formula is just ....
