How to make dashboard filters persistent when opening report

We utilize dashboard filters extensively.    Hoping this community can help with the following Use Case.

Situation:   Apply Dashboard filters which affects an embedded report properly.    If the embedded table report is opened it loses the filters and produces all of the records (as if no filters were applied).    Note:  Drill into embedded pie, bar and gauge charts works fine and retains the filtered contents.

How do we make the dashboard filters persistent to apply the filter(s) to the embedded table report when opened?
