  • 1.  Ideas to archive record/ make it non editable except admin

    Hi Everyone,

    Looking for ideas.. how can I archive records in QuickBase? Not sure if archive is the correct term. Per requirement, need to make record non editable for all users except admin when it's archived.

    I'm thinking to add 1 checkbox field on the form called "Archive". Admin will have access to select/un-select it. Once admin selects this checkbox, record will be locked and no user will be able to edit it except admin. 

    Not sure if I need to write a formula for this checkbox field or need to add any custom rule for admin and other users roles. 

    Please advise. Thanks In advance!

    This should be easy. Just go into the role permissions for Roles which are allowed to Edit  and make a custom rule Permission to allow edit only when the archive checkboxe is not checked.


    That way they will be able to view all records but will only be able to edit records which are not archived.
