Yes this is still the case. A pipeline can't see your browser and come back to the user to refresh their screen.
However There are some techniques available where you would push a button and it would refresh your screen after a set delay, for example, say five seconds if in your experience, the pipeline completes within that time.

No, that is not currently possible.

Subject: Pipeline Step to Refresh record
From a record form (record A) -- I have a Button on a related view (related child table) ---that when clicked -- a pipeline is triggered and a record is updated within a different app.....the record that is updated - is a Parent to "record A" -- all works well -- except -- I have to refresh my browser to see the updates --- for my "record A" -- is there a "Refresh" step within Pipelines? I would like to have the final step within my pipeline -- to refresh "record A".
Thanks
