Re-order rows in grid via drag-and-drop and then auto-save the order

Does QuickBase have an out-of-the-box way to re-order the rows in the grid with drag and drop and then save the new order afterwards?   I found this link that does that but lacks the function to automatically save the re-order.  This is a requirement for me from my customer.

In this demo you can drag and drop rows of a report to reorder the records:.

Pastie Database

A little additional code could be used to add a new row or you could add a new row before invoking the drag and drop solution.

If you want help with this feel free to contact mo_an the ultimate next week using the information in my profile:

Most of the Dan's Diebolt tricks typically involved JavaScript and not longer work. Dan is no longer active on this Forum.

The Kanban report type is the only report which supports native drag and drop.

This thread here has a discussion about using the hidden Kanban sort field in other reports.

      Mark,
Thanks for your response.  That is not going to work.  Kanban report type requires a multiple choice or User data type.  There are scenarios where I need to re-order the line items of an invoice without having to either delete each line item and re-enter them or having to add an "order" column of numeric type and then sorting by that  column.  Would be really great if QuickBase allows that.  That link I posted did just that but doesn't have the capability to save the order.   Can this be placed on the product roadmap?

On the My Apps page there is a tab for product Feedback. You can post your request there.   All feed back is reviewed by Quickbase Product Managers.

If you like you can then post a link back here to solicit community support to rank your suggestion.
