At this time QuickBase is marketed as primarily a US-based, western-character encoded product. As our customer base continues to grow, we realize many more of our customers have the need for a global strategy with their databases. Our QuickBase Product Managers are well aware of the need for greater compatibility with foreign markets, and its something we hope to see expanded in QuickBase in the near future.
There are customers that have had success using foreign characters in QuickBase by changing their browser's character encoding. In Firefox or IE, for example, you can change the character encoding to display in different languages. We recommend you review the included help documentation for your specific browser of choice for instructions on changing the encoding. Changing the browser's encoding works in QuickBase for the most part, but there may be some oddities in QuickBase using foreign characters which we currently cannot account for.
