The browser on our devices has certificates created to make this server a "trusted" URL so we can navigate to it directly within the browser, however QuickBase attempting to reach our server using a webhook does not have a certificate and does not trust the location, thus it cannot be seen I am able to get the "Save and Redirect" portion working using build found in this thread, however I'm unable to pass the newly created record ID because at the time the formula link is being generated, it doesn't exist:https://community.quickbase.com/communities/community-home/digestviewer/viewthread?MessageKey=c59408cb-2abc-4bd8-94cf-e4e487fc7e7d This is the closest existing thread I could find requesting the same functionality, but am no where near getting it to function:https://community.quickbase.com/communities/community-home/digestviewer/viewthread?MessageKey=5cf176ce-f70c-4a33-915c-f43db707d774 Any ideas?? ------------------------------ Scott Robertson ------------------------------ Re: Count the number of specific characters in text field Thanks Mark, that's what I was afraid of. This information is coming in through an API so I'm going to explore obtaining the counts before posting to QuickBase. The other issue I failed to mention is that the length of that field can range from 1 delimiter to 50,000+... would I need to complete 50,000 "trims" with this solution? Trim(Part($value,1,";"))<>"", Trim(Part($value,2,";"))<>"", Trim(Part($value,3,";"))<>"", … Trim(Part($value,50000,";"))<>"", ------------------------------ Scott Robertson ------------------------------ Count the number of specific characters in text fieldHello, Is it possible to count the number of specific characters within a text field? What I'm looking to do is count the number of delimiters (";") within a text field to determine the number of entries in a field (this isn't something that can be separated into different fields). Examples: hello;world;test;1;2;3; = 6 hello; = 1 ;;;; = 4 I was looking into removing all text besides the delimiter and using the Length formula, but haven't had any luck! Thanks! ------------------------------ Scott Robertson ------------------------------ Re: When to use Automation vs. Form Rule to modify a field valueThanks! When to use Automation vs. Form Rule to modify a field valueI have reviewed all the standard documentation around Automation within University.QuickBase.com and Help.QuickBase.com, but cannot find a rule of thumb for when you should use Automation vs. a Form Rule when attempting to change field values. Is the only difference that an Automation will only fire once the record is saved and a form rule can perform actions "live" while editing a record? I'm running into the "40 Derived Field Limit" within my Form Rules and before totally restructure my fields/formulas/logic to avoid using a derived field, I'd like to understand if this is something an Automation could help with. My Specific Example (I have 40+ different "due date" fields) 1. When a checkbox changes from unchecked to checked 2. Change a date field to be 3 business days from today's date (the actual rule is Change "Due Date" to the value in the field "Due Date Formula" field =WeekdayAdd(Today(),3) Thanks!
