I have set up a QB action to add a new record to a "Joining table" (child table) when a new record is added to the Training Session (parent table). "Joining Table" only has 2 fields- Related Employee and Related Training Session. In the Training Session table I have a field to choose which employees attend - "Employee- Full Name"- it is a multitext select list from the Employees table. I get the following error: Data inEmployee - Full nameisn't compatible withRelated Employee. Any suggestions? ------------------------------ Charmaine Silverman ------------------------------ Re: Splitting one table into twoThank you - please can you confirm which records I should delete from the copied table - the contact details or the company details? And then copy the contacts details from the original table ? or copied table to a new table? Sorry I am getting myself confused. Can you just add which tables I am using in your above answer and I should then be able to do it. ------------------------------ Charmaine Silverman ------------------------------ Splitting one table into twoHi I want to "create a new table" from a field in one table and want to move the address field across to the new table but it doesn't show as an additional field I can move. Currently have one table with companies and contacts - want to split it so one company(parent) has many contacts(child). So the data I split out should be the company info (I think).- ie parent info) And address is one of the company fields I want to move....but it wont let me. Any help would be appreciated. ------------------------------ Charmaine Silverman ------------------------------ Formula to convert part of number to dateHi In South Africa we have Identity numbers which are 13 digits, the first 6 digits are your date of birth eg ID number is 8404130028085, then date of birth is 13 April 1984. What formula(s) can I use to extract the first 6 numbers - I tried - (Left, Field, 6), then add the century (ie 19, or 20 if the first 2 numbers are less than 20) and then convert it to a date. What type of field must the ID Number be? I tried number but then Left wouldn't work, changed to text but now just doesnt give an answer although it accepts the formula. Also wht type of field must this date of birth be- I have it as formula- date. Any help most appreciated. Thanks ------------------------------ Charmaine Silverman ------------------------------ Formulas and checkboxesHi. Just started on my first formula in QB and am having trouble with a check box. Trying to say if half day is not checked add 1 day and if checked add 1.5 days. Get the error message, expecting Boolean but found number on my second row of the formula. The field is formula- numeric. My first and last day fields are dates. If([Half day],"No", WeekdaySub([Last day of leave],[First day of leave])+1, WeekdaySub([Last day of leave],[First day of leave])+1.5) All help will be most appreciated ------------------------------ Charmaine Silverman ------------------------------
