I've opened a support ticket. ------------------------------ Paul ------------------------------ Change field type from multi-line to multiple choiceWhen I created a table I mistakenly chose "Text - multi-line" when I really wanted "Text - multiple choice". But when I try to change the field type the "Save" icon just spins without end and never finishes making the conversion. The only way to make it stop is to reload the browser page. Is this a bug? I am using Chrome. Thanks. ------------------------------ Paul ------------------------------ Change field type from multi-line to multiple choiceWhen I created a table I mistakenly chose "Text - multi-line" when I really wanted "Text - multiple choice". I'm a Senior Business Systems Analyst for a pharmaceutical company in central NY. I've only been here for a few weeks so I'm still figuring things out. I have a Masters degree in IT along with several certifications in Data Analysis and Visualization. My background has mainly involved working with enterprise-level financial software, writing reports, finding process efficiencies and automation, and data mining, manipulation, and presentation. 1. The biggest challenge I'm currently facing is automating and visualizing (dashboarding) as much of our reporting as possible. Working with the data isn't the challenge - it's extracting the data in the first place that poses the biggest hurdle because we're using JD Edwards and we don't have views or a reporting tool so we must write our own SQL queries. If you've ever attempted to directly query an Oracle database then you know how convoluted that can be! 2. Probably I'd want to master JD Edwards so that I better understand the data flows and how all the pieces of information are stored and related to one another. 3. I am curious to learn about scheduling SQL reports to run automatically, which I've been told QuickBase is capable of but I have not yet seen this functionality myself. ------------------------------ Paul ------------------------------ Re: Quick Base user names loading into Power Query as codesThat worked! Thanks Tom! ------------------------------ Paul ------------------------------ Re: Quick Base user names loading into Power Query as codesHi Don, Thanks for the offer to help. I tried your suggestion but it just pulls the same code into Power BI. I will have to look at it again tomorrow to see if I can somehow convert it to a textual user name. I'm new to QB so still exploring its capabilities and limitations. ------------------------------ Paul ------------------------------ Quick Base user names loading into Power Query as codes I've successfully connected Power BI to my Quick Base app, but when I retrieve the data there are two fields that show the username in Quick Base but load into Power Query as codes. This is happening in the "Last Modified By" and "Record Owner" fields. So instead of "John Doe" (which is what I see in the Quick Base app) I might see "32598325.fb7x". Is there any way to pull the actual user name into Power Query, or is this some kind of intentional restriction on the Quick Base side? Here is an example: ------------------------------ Paul ------------------------------
