ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: URL Button to save and edit recordSo I have two forms in a table. One used to add new records and the other a default form that is used to edit records. The problem is I need QuickBase to change a checkbox to checked on the form that is used to add new records - but currently Quickbase is not letting me do both simultaneously with the button formula (add the record and edit to checked). Not sure if that clears things up a bit ------------------------------ Wallace (DHS) ------------------------------ Re: URL Button to save and edit record Yup, so I have a default form that is set to be seen when users edit records and another form that users see when they add records. This form with this URL button is on the form used when users add record. So if the record is just saved it takes users to the wrong form - that's why I was looking to accomplish both actions with the URL button ------------------------------ Wallace (DHS) ------------------------------ URL Button to save and edit recordI am currently trying to build a url button that saves and edits a record simultaneously. The issue I ran into at first was the record was not completely saved so QuickBase didn't recognize it as a result couldn't edit the record. Now I got the record to save however now its not editing. Providing my formula below - any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_TABLE_1] & "?a=API_GenAddRecordForm&apptoken=XX3&dfid=10&_fid_3=" & URLEncode ([Record ID#])& "&z=" & URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=API_EditRecord&rid=" & [Record ID#] & "&apptoken=XXX" & "&_fid_134=1"& "&rdr=" & URLEncode (XXXXX a=showpage&pageid=12") ------------------------------ Wallace (DHS) ------------------------------ Re: Custom Data Rules and Lookup/Summary fieldsAhh okay gotcha. I'll try that out - Thanks Mark! ------------------------------ Wallace (DHS) ------------------------------ Custom Data Rules and Lookup/Summary fieldsIs there anyway to get around the limitations with custom data rules and summary and lookup fields? For example I have a Task table that has the projected number of hours a task should take. I then have an assignment table where actual assignment hours are billed against the projected. I was trying to have the system restrict users from assigning any hours that went over the projected hours. However the issue I am running into is since the projected hours is a lookup from the task table, the custom data rules are not firing correctly. Wondering if anyone else has run into this problem and figured out a work around? ------------------------------ Wallace (DHS) ------------------------------ Re: Convert Duration to NumericAhh okay I'll try that out. Thanks Mark! ------------------------------ Wallace (DHS) ------------------------------ HTML Coding on DashboardsI've been looking for ways to improve the look and feel of some of our dashboards. I was wondering is it possible to place an html coding layer on dashboards. If so, how? If no, how are some ways folks are enhancing the look and feel of their dashboards? ------------------------------ Wallace (DHS) ------------------------------ How to add to my url formula button that changes a checkbox to ""true"I am trying to create a url button that will take a user to the related form and check off a checkbox. My current formula is not working for some reason: I am in the Jobs table (_DBID_JOBS)when I select the button, the checkbox I am trying to change is also located in the Jobs table. Once the user selects the button (They will be selecting from a report) I would like them taken to the related jobs form and would like the field ID 1146 to change to "checked". URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_JOBS] & "?a=dr&rid=" & [Maximum Related Job] & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=API_EditRecord" & "&rid=" & [Maximum Related Job] &"apptoken=b5migf_nhwb_uwejxvbfjbg42bcg4aecdf5rk4b" &"&_fid_1146=1" ------------------------------ Wallace (DHS) ------------------------------ Re: How to add to my url formula button that changes a checkbox to ""true"" but also saves the record?I am trying to create a url button that will take a user to the related form and check off a checkbox.
