I work for Pentastar Aviation here in Waterford, and I believe some of you may already know my boss, Patrick Tschudi. He mentioned this Detroit user group and it looks like it hasn't been very active in over the last few years; I would like to change that. I know that we have a lot of interaction with QuickBase. It has already improved our efficiency as a company tenfold, and we have only scratched the surface in terms of utilizing its capabilities. I continue to learn more about QB everyday and become more proficient. With that being said, it would be nice to hear more about who you are and what you use QB for? How has it helped your operation? What are some of your favorite features? Finally, it would be nice if we could schedule a meet and greet in the future. I think there's a lot that we can all learn from each other, as well as enjoy each other's company. I look forward to hearing back from you all. Kind regards, ------------------------------ Aidon Olligschlager ------------------------------ Summary Report Based on Similar Values in Two Fields in Same TableHello, I am trying to create a summary report for our sales reps that will show deals they are the sole sales person on and deals that the split with another rep, to help them forecast their sales. Depending on the deal, they may share the forecast number, and we'd like to display the split amount for better forecasting per rep. I have two User fields: [Sales Rep] and [Sales Rep 2], that the sales rep could be in, depending on if they are the main rep or secondary in splitting the deal. I have another field that calculates the split amount (usually 50/50 of the full deal amount). Example: Reps Smith, Wilson, and Jones are splitting deals. Deal 1, Smith is the main rep with Wilson as the 2nd rep, Deal 2, Wilson is the main rep with Jones as the 2nd rep. In the summary report, Wilson would show all sales opps where he is listed in either [Sale Rep] or [Sales Rep 2] field, which would include both split deals. Is there a way to create a summary report to show all deals for a sales rep whether they are in [Sales Rep] OR [Sales Rep 2] field? Will a summary report show the same record twice in the report? Per the example, would Deal 1 be calculated under Smith & Wilson and Deal 2 under Wilson & Jones? Thank you! ------------------------------ Jenni Murray Detroit, MI ------------------------------ Re: Remove Copy this (record) option from the More DropdownThank you, Mark! I figured that would be the answer, was hoping for an easy button on this one :) ------------------------------ Jenni Murray Detroit, MI ------------------------------ Remove Copy this (record) option from the More DropdownHi, When you are viewing a record, is there a way to remove or disable the "Copy this [record name]" option from the More dropdown? I looked under the Role UI options, but don't see this setting. The users can add and edit records, but we don't want them to duplicate any records. Thank you! ------------------------------ Jenni Murray Detroit, MI ------------------------------ Re: Summary Field to Show Previous Year Data on Current Year RecordHi Mark, Thank you for your reply! I'll see if your Plan A will work. This is a new build, so not many records will need to be updated. Thank you :) ------------------------------ Jenni Murray Detroit, MI ------------------------------ Summary Field to Show Previous Year Data on Current Year RecordHi! I have a Plans table [parent] related to a Funding table [child]. One Plan record is created per client per year with many Funding records added to it. On a Plan current year's record, I need a field to display the previous year's funding total. I created a summary field with a condition of issued date is during the previous year, however, this field displays null, as I believe it is looking at just funding records related to that plan. Is there a way to create a summary field on the current Plan record to show the previous year's total funding based on a date field and the client's name? I am unable to do a summary report, as I need to use this total amount field in a report to share with others as a quick look of all the client plans created during the year. ------------------------------ Jenni Murray Detroit, MI ------------------------------ RE: How can we help you adapt to your new (and evolving) priorities?Hi Evan, Thank you for the response! Oh good, glad I'm on the right mindset on how to do this. I like the idea of using a webpage widget for this or an iframe. I'll check those options out. I'm looking for a clean easy user experience for our team to use. The more I can make it seem like it is all contained within App (A) the better. After thinking about it, using the button to open in the other app may confuse some, unless there is a way to reroute them back to the page they were on in the original app. I'll take a stab at the page options first and let you know if I have any questions :) ~ Thank you ------------------------------ Jenni Murray Detroit, MI ------------------------------ RE: How can we help you adapt to your new (and evolving) priorities? We have a need to add a questionnaire form from App (B) into another App (A), where the team filling it out lives in. The reason for this is that the info from the survey should really reside in App (B) for reference and tracking. The team only needs to fill it out as management will be reviewing the answers and follow up with any requests. My thought process was to put a button on App (A) for the team to click and be routed to fill out the form that lives on App (B). Would that be the best way, or would it be better to set up a table in App (A) then sync the info into App (B)? I'd like to avoid duplicating data. Or is there a way to include/embed/iframe the form from App (B) in a home page within App (A), so it doesn't look like they are leaving App (A) to fill it out? ------------------------------ Jenni Murray Detroit, MI ------------------------------ Re: Thanks for a successful 2nd Detroit User Group! Are there any plans for the next one? ------------------------------ Jenni Murray Detroit, MI ------------------------------ Re: Community Tip Jar: Keeping Up With Your UsersCouple times a year, I might have to present to our Sales team, who use QB the most, to show them updates we've done as a company and also the enhancements from native QB. I'll also start including QB tips in our bi-monthly marketing newsletter. Majority of the company knows I'm their go to person for anything QB related, so they usually reach out to me for changes or questions on what fields to report on. Another person in the company manages users accounts, but I know they go through the list and remove anyone who has not accesses our realm within the past 6 months, and will re-distribute that seat to someone who does need access. ------------------------------ Jenni Murray Detroit, MI ------------------------------
