I have created a table to show the roles and another for territories.Populate field through lookup in a relationship to help permissionsHI, I am trying to limit access to records in an app depending on a territory field and if a user (from Roles table) is assigned to that territory. The idea being is we just need to update the roles table with new starters or the territory summary if we create a new territory to update the records. I am then using a formula such asIf(UserToName(User())=[Full Name], 1, 0) to see if the logged in user is assigned to the territory and if so allow access to view and edit the record I have a few different tables in an app and have a a 1 to many relationship set up from the record table to the territory Table where I am trying to look up the district from the main table in the Territory table to then pull in some of the details. Join clause The look up is set up so I can only see the relevant record from the drop down by I cant figure out how I can get this to populate in rather than having to go to every record and manual click in the field and then save the record. I think I need to do a revers relationship but I am not sure how to do this and the settings needed to get the population. Also wondering if there is a better way to do the permissions. Thank youRe: Help with formula URLHI, Struggling with the call to create the child record can you help?Help with formula URLI am using a formula URL field to complete a field using a button on the main view. I would also like this button to create a record in a child table and copy across a couple of fields when it is clicked. At the moment the formula is: var text url = URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?act=API_EditRecord&apptoken="appToken"&rid=" & [Record ID#] & "&_fid_41="&URLEncode("Sales Feedback"); "javascript:" & "$.get('" & $url & "', function(){" & "location.reload();" & "});" & "void(0);" What would I need to do to add field ID's 10, 20, 30 to the new record on the child table, save and return to the original screen the button was pressed on? Would also be nice to have a different color for the button as well. Many Thanks _Calculate time in stageHi All, I am creating an app to track performance by a team and need to be able to say how long an activity has been with them and how long they are waiting on another team. To do this I am looking at having a status field that tracks when the stage is changed. Can I use a time calculation to calculate the time in stage from the field history or is there a more sensible way to do this?Re: URL button to approve a record on a tableSecond option sound really interesting but I go an error when saving the formula after the& "XXXX"; might be having a moment but what do I need to replace the XXXX with?Re: URL button to approve a record on a tableThank you. The first reply gives me a button that works once I added in "" around the wording but takes you to a screen showing<qdbapi><action>API_EditRecord</action> <errcode>0</errcode> <errtext>No error</errtext> <rid>2140</rid> <num_fields_changed>1</num_fields_changed> <update_id>1490628960113</update_id> </qdbapi> if not solvable how do I change the formula to refresh? also how do I get the button to look green and just say Approve?URL button to approve a record on a tableHI All, I am trying to solve a problem where some users find the gird edit and using a drop down box on a table to complicated to give there approval.... My thoughts is on the table of records there is a button the user to approve the record with out going into it. Also ideally not refresh the screen so they can go down the whole table with out having the screen reload but probably need to grey the button out once pressed. I am assuming I need to use a formula URL field but I have not used these before. I found a working example but not sure of all the areas to use. For example for URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() do I need to add the table address between the () and the table ID in the second brackets? I could also not work out how to make the button just say approve and show in green (small thing but makes it look good) The table I am using is called; Records Field to change is ID 50 and called DSM Approval (text multiple choice) The edit needs to add Approved to the field. I cant use a check box as I need to replicate the button for rejected approvals as there are formula dependent fields based of this and the field needs to record all changes any suggestions welcome.Re: If function calling on a number of fieldsThank you. This worked really well so much easier to see and easier to adapt. Only question is I then used an IF formula based of the new checkbox to combine into one field. Quick question...when I created a summary table using the IF function the results are in alphabetical order on the summary not in the order of the IF function steps. Is there any way to change the order? If function calling on a number of fieldsNeed some help as I want to see if I am going in the right direction as it looks like the an IF formula I am working on is going to be about 50 lines long. In essance it is and expansion of the below formula to see which approval level is still needed. The below formula just tells me if it is approved or not but I would like this to call on when it is not approved and then multiple varients to call out the level it needs an approval. With all possiable combinations this is going to be very long. I have to use contain as the approval field is time date stamped so it records all changes. Any help appreciated.
