The problem is that the automations end up all running at once; I need them to run sequentially. I tried inserting the underlined timeout lines to put a lag between filling in each record. The lag works, but then the records aren't filled in correctly; it seems to not be retrieving the record information properly. Any thoughts? I am also open to other ideas to run automations with a lag! Code is below: $("record", xml2).each(async function(index) { setTimeout(async function() { ////Timeout function var record = $("record_number", this).text(); var now = $("now", this).text(); var xml3 =await Promise.resolve( $.get(dbid1, { act: "API_EditRecord", rid: record, _fid_45: now, }) ); console.log(index); console.dirxml(xml3); }, count * 1000) ///Timeout function count++; ///timeout function }); } ------------------------------ Jessica Jessica ------------------------------ Re: Use QB Action to Edit Record in another applicationNevermind the question, I got it to work using the EditRecord API call. The trick is using the app token of the app that will be recieving data (not the one sending it). var text URL= "https://xxxxxxx.quickbase.com/db/xxxxxx"; & "?act=API_EditRecord" & "&rid=" & URLEncode ([Field in sending App that will match the Record ID in receiving App]) & "&_fid_193=" & URLEncode ([Field 1]) & "&_fid_194=" & URLEncode ([Field2]) & "&_fid_12=" & URLEncode ([Field 3]) & "&_fid_17=" & URLEncode ([Field 4]) & "&apptoken=" & "xxxxx"; "javascript:" & "$.get('" & $URL & "',function(){" & "location.reload(true);" & "});" & "void(0);Use QB Action to Edit Record in another applicationI want to use an Action to Edit a record in another application. I have given both applications the appropriate permissions and made a parent-child relationship for the table I want data in to the table I have the data in. I can create records via Action in the other application. However, it does not let me edit records in the other app. Any thoughts? Can I do this through webhooks?Re: Schedule Tool with Dates across the topIt appears no one felt like answering my question. I was able to SORT OF accomplish what I wanted by creating a summary report, but it only allows for numbers to be summarized, which isn't quite what I was going for. Here is a screenshot in case it helps anyone in the future or in case someone wants to contribute and help me accomplish this: Schedule Tool with Dates across the topWe are using a scheduling tool that is essentially just an Excel spreadsheet in this format: I'd love to move it into QuickBase to be able to do reporting off of it. So far, I have created tables for Date, Project and Resource (employee). I've made a Schedule table and built is as a child table of all three tables. I can bring them together as below: My question is: can i create a report where the Dates will go across the top of the report, like in my screenshot above? I know I'll get too much push back if I can't get it into the format people are used to. I'm okay with using Javascript to accomplish this.Re: Can you dynamically change field names with the IOL technique?I agree that it has the potential to be confusing on reports. An alternative (and potentially easier) solution would be for me to create 12 different dashboards (one for each month) then have the user get to it via 1 button. I know that I could do something like this via a URL formula field in a FORM but, could I put a dynamic button like this on a PAGE? ie I want 1 button that goes to the March Homepage if the current month is March, the April Homepage if April and I want that button to be found on a home pageCan you dynamically change field names with the IOL technique? It would be helpful for me to dynamically change field names based on the date the record was created. ie if it was created in March then Field 1 would be March, Field 2 would be April, etc. I realize this would cause issues in reports where records with different creation months, so I don't know if it would be possible. I haven't been able to find anything similar in Dan's Pasties database, so I thought I would ask.Re: Actions ""Add New Record"" to table with same Key fieldYou missed my point. in the event that I do include the Record ID for Add Record, if the Record ID already exists, it just modifies the existing record. I want someone to confirm that it works this way. I don't want to have to use "Edit Record" for an Action because the data is coming from Synced table and I don't want to change the Key field of the synced table.Actions ""Add New Record"" to table with same Key fieldI've been using Actions for a while. I have observed is that if I choose the "Perform Action Type: Add New" and the value am inputting into the Key Field of the table where the new record is created already exists, it actually edits the existing record instead of adding a new record. This makes sense based off the way databases work, but most interesting to me is that the "Date Created" field doesn't update, it stays as the original creation date. Has anyone else observed this? I am asking because it would be advantageous for me to use a Add Record vs. Edit Record for a new project I'm working on. I just want to make sure I haven't observed a fluke before I set it up this way!Re: Pull data from previous line into current lineIs there anyway to do this if the Key field isn't the Record ID, therefore the Key field isn't sequential? I'm trying this technique for a different project but didn't realize that the previous builder changed the Key field. I'm assuming not, but thought I'd ask.
