Essentially, I have a table that is a timeline chart for keeping track of our open projects. I have a tasks table that we are trying to pull data from to keep the timeline table up to date. We originally set up a record lookup and the pipeline is supposed to be triggered when a condition is met on the task table. Once that condition is met it is supposed to take the completed date from the task record and place it into a field on the timeline table. When structured with a lookup, it throws this error. Most of the responses I have seen when searching this error showed resolution by adding a search with a loop behind it. Thought that may be the case her but I am not sure. Either way, I am hoping that provides a bit more context! ------------------------------ Matt Matt ------------------------------ Pipline Throwing Validation error: This step requires a target, but the supplied one is an empty object I have a pipeline that is throwing this error and I feel sure that this needs a loop somewhere but I cannot figure out a good way to add the loop as it does not show me a valid target. Is there something more comprehensive on adding loops that what is in the knowledgebase? ------------------------------ Matt Matt ------------------------------ Re: Cannot figure out syntax to display a time of day in a formula text fieldPerfect! That worked! Thank you very much!Re: Cannot figure out syntax to display a time of day in a formula text fieldI thought of that but unfortunately, I use a non-native app that updates and creates records in other locations of my system and I already have everything written using a separate date field. To change it at this point has ripple effects that would take longer than I have to spend on the project to correct. I know that my syntax is off and that ToFormattedText is not correct but is there any syntax that will convert a time of day field to display in a formula text field as part of a formula? Thanks for your suggestion!Cannot figure out syntax to display a time of day in a formula text fieldSo I have a time of day formula that I am trying to put into a formula text field in my form. Here is the formula that I have written. If([Lockbox Needed?]="Yes", "Contract signing scheduled for "&ToFormattedText([Contract Signing Time],"HHMM")&". Also make sure to install lockbox", ToFormattedText([Contract Signing Time],"HHMM")) I am getting an error that throws up that ToFormattedText is the wrong syntax but I cannot seem to find what the correct syntax is. Please help!Moving Data From ""Legacy"" App To A New AppOk, so this is a bit of a sticky situation. I started working in QuickBase about 3 years ago on a shoestring budget and with nothing more than a graphic design background. As you can imagine it was a bit of a learning curve and after 3 years of development we decided that we needed an overhaul of our entire system. We had gotten into the woods with app to app relationships and other issues of formula fields acting as indicators to fire certain actions etc. We threw a bit of money into some third-party apps that have drastically improved our workflow and system reliability significantly cutting down the "human error" element. This change did bring about a lot of changes in our table structures though and now I am attempting to bring over the critical data for our end users to be able to lookup information and actually be able to use our new awesome system. Data that used to be housed all in one table is now split into three tables and I have effectively been able to bring over a lot of information and format it correctly except for the related contact for these tables. I have discovered that connecting the related contact means that I have to be able to reference the old system record ID # of the contact and tell it to relate the new record with the correct contact based off of that old record ID #. My issue is that I already migrated the contacts into the system and forgot to bring this value in the first go at uploading the contacts. I have a csvformatted and ready to import but I cannot seem to find a way to import this as an update to existing records instead of it creating a bunch of new records. I have looked and am using the key field as a reference in the import but it still is not working the way I want it to. I have been copying the app and testing and have yet to figure out what I am doing wrong. Does anyone have any documentation on completing this process so I have a step by step to follow and maybe figure out where I am going wrong? Thanks for any help you all can provide on this!Re: Formula URL to generate new record on different table using specific form.Someone from the customer service team got back to me on the support case and helped me answer my question. For context and completion of this thread I wanted to share what they helped me figure out...Just in case anyone else is looking for this answer. What I needed to get to was the related field between the two tables. I was trying to create a button that converted an applicant to an employee. To reduce data entry I wanted it to carry through the information, such as first name, last name, primary contact phone number, etc. I wanted those fields to come through so that I could write dynamic form rules to populate those fields automatically. Additionally I only needed a form on the employee table that had necessary fields so I created a form that was abbreviated. So the challenge was creating a Formula URL button that carried the information from the existing table to the new table and utilized the specific form that I had created. I accomplished this by locating the reference proxy field id and added to the formula that I put in my original post. Thus my formula above turned into this: URLRoot() & "db/bj68rdvfx?a=API_GenAddRecordForm&_fid_133=" & URLEncode ([Record ID#])&"&dfid=10" & "&z=" & Rurl() I did learn that this does not work without the = sign at the end of the fid. Not sure why but it is needed or it will not work. Hope this helps someone else out as much as it helped me!Re: Formula URL to generate new record on different table using specific form.Ok so I located the field ID but I guess I am still confused on which field ID to use....How do I determine what field ID to use because I put in a few different options and none of them work....Formula URL to generate new record on different table using specific form. Ok so I am trying to create a button that generates a new record in a different table while carrying over data from the existing table. I have other places that I have done this and I cannot seem to find where to get the ??????? from below. Does anyone have any advice?
