? (newbie here)  I have an excel worksheet with 65000 records(rows).  Each corresponds to a city resident.  I need to number them sequentially, 1 thru 65000 basically, but each number should be preceded with a code (like ABC-00001, ABC-0002... and so on). When I add this new column to my worksheet and then re-import, I get an error message.  Can someone help me figure this out?

Do you want to control the numbering based on your imported excel sheet, or did you want QuickBase to auto number them?

My numbering has to be according to my spreadsheet.  Its a code.  the actual code is (AGENCY)-(SOURCE)-(YEAR)-(SEQUENTIAL NUMBER).  So it actually looks like this... (example)  ABCUSAA-DEF-16-00001, ABCUSAA-DEF-16-00002, ABCUSAA-DEF-16-00003, ....... and so on.  For EACH record (row) or data.

When I try to import without this column (for the entire 65,000 rows of data) it works fine.  But when I add this particular row, I get an error message.

no problem.  Just split the Import up to row 30,000 and then import vthe last 35,000 rows.  So 2 passes at 'er.
