We'd like to send an email with the internal email capability just like when you click the 'email' icon at the top of the record. We are just trying to remove additional steps of opening the lead, clicking email,  etc. and have found how to mailto with javascript but it always opens in an external client.

Try this syntax

URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=GenEmailRecord&rid=" & [Record ID#]

& "&tolist=" & List(", ",UserToEmail([R/S User 1]), UserToEmail([R/S User 2]))

Insert &dfid=11 to force a form
?a=GenEmailRecord&&dfid=11&rid=

Excellent!  Thank you for the response so quickly! :smile: but this is what comes back:

The types of the arguments or the number of arguments supplied do not meet the requirements of the function UserToEmail.

The function is defined to be UserToEmail (User x).

here is what i am using:
URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=GenEmailRecord&dfid=2&rid=" & [Record ID#]

& "&tolist=" & List(", ",UserToEmail([Doctors Email]))

from what I read I need to convert the email address first then insert it into usertoemail?

Try this
URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=GenEmailRecord&dfid=2&rid=" & [Record ID#]

& "&tolist=" & ToText(Doctors Email])
