Can a Concatenated Text Field Contain a Clickable Link for only Parent Text?

My Tasks table contains a field for the parent (Project), which links to the parent record.

For a report to show the Task name, and Project name (including a link to that Project) it would display these as two separate columns. But I can create a concatenated field which displays the Task and Project names, is it possible for such a field to have only the Project name to display as clickable text that links to the parent project?

How could this be done?

Thank you!

You'd just need to turn on HTML in your Formula-text field, and build some chopped-up HTML, kind of like this:

"<a ref='http://projecttableurl.quickbase.com/db/etc/&rid="&[Related Project]&"'>Click here to see "&[Project - Name]&"</a> for "&[Task Name]&" Task"

Assuming your relation is just using the record id# of the parent. Make sense? Hope this helps.

Love it, thank you!

It looks great, but for some reason the link isn't going anywhere, can you see what I maybe did wrong in my field code?

List (" ", [Type Icon], [Item Name], [Addtl Icons], " ("&"<a ref='https://rael-letson.quickbase.com/db/bkqrxbr3z?a=dr&rid="&[Project ID]&"'>"&[Project - Name]&")")

Thank you!

Hmm, I see the link is breaking off here within the field name because it contains a space, so I changed the Project ID field name to Project_ID. It still isn't working, though. Hmmm.

The place where you have
a ref
needs to be
a href

Awesome. You know, I saw 'ref' and thought is there an "h" there? -- which I would have remembered from the, probably, 5 HTML tags I learned by reading a book in 1994. :)

Thank you!

Ooops, I missed the h. Glad it worked otherwise.
