When using the "Copy Master Detail Records" feature, is there any way to make the due dates of the detail record tasks adjust to fit the new project? We have the same group of tasks which need to be done for each project - some daily, some weekly, some monthly, some adhoc. Projects may have different durations, so a variable number of daily/weekly/monthly tasks may need to be created. In addition, the dates on those daily / weekly / monthly tasks need to fit the start/finish date of the actual project. Is there a way to do this?

If you use a setup using Predecessors where, for example task B cannot start until task A is completed, then once you seed the first task with a Start Date  then all the dependent tasks which follow can have their dates calculated automatically.

The Copy Master Detail  button will respect those tesk dependencies when it copies the tasks.  There is help information here http://www.quickbase.com/user-assistance/Default.html#about_dependencies.html

in my experience, even the best of the project management template applications in the Exchange still need some tweaking to get them working right so as to automate the start date calculations based on the expected o actual completion date of previous tasks and the duration of each task.

QuickBase Service Providers like myself or from this list can help configure your application to your needs.
