Can I change a report's description without going into the settings?

I've created a report that I use for a sign up sheet for a given class. That sign up sheet needs to have the date of the class on it. My workaround was to go into "Settings" and just type in the date I want into the Description area. Then when I go to print, I check the box that says "Print Description".

The date has nothing to do with individual records and I don't want it in the columns and using the "Print Date" function when printing is not a solution because I rarely print the sheets the day of the class.

Is there a way to circumvent having to go into "Settings" to accomplish that?

No problem.
Make a Table called Sign up Sheet Date.  Add one field called report title.  Add one record.  It will be record ID #1, and then set the role permissions so that no one can add any more records.

In your class sign up details record, make a formula numeric field called link to Class signup date, with a formula of 1.  Make a Relationship to that new table based in that formula field and pull down the report sign up date field.

Then on the report do. group by on that field.  It will thus appear as a report heading.

Oh!  Yes, but that is Tuesday Sept 8th. Sure, we can cover it then if you like.
