I want to create a conditional drop down that takes advantage of multi select.

I have three tables: Events, Venues, Rooms

Some Events take place in one Room of a Venue, some Events take place in more than one Room of a Venue. So when users are creating a new Event and choose a Venue I want them to be able to choose multiple Rooms when it's called for. When a user selects a Venue for an Event I want to restrict the Rooms choices to only Rooms in that Venue.

A conditional drop down is much more preferable to a field in the Events tab that is just a multi-select text field called Room(s) and a lot of dynamic form rules.

Unfortunately, I don't believe you'll be able to use the Multi-Select field in concert with a Conditional Drop-down. CDD's require that the two fields represent data present on other tables and typically are the reference fields for those relationships. The Multi-Select, however, doesn't have the CDD as an available option. You may want to think about creating another table for Event Rooms, which would be a child of Events, Venues, and Rooms and would give you the ability to put room-specific information into each record of a multi-room Event. You could have the user create an Event record and select the Venue before selecting a Select Room button (which would add a new record in Event Rooms) in which you could pass the selected Venue down to the Event Rooms record.

Hi Josh,
I am looking to create a Quick Base app that compares and contrasts an array of venues that we have on file and I wondered which application you had decided to use for this matter and how effective it is.
I look forward to your response.
