Can I "Save and Add" related child records without a round trip to the parent? Using the add related item function only seems to allow for one, the second is not related.

Picture my scenario as if I have a shopping cart, that is the parent. I am using a scanner to add related items to the cart. In order to completely rely on the scanner for data entry, I would like to have the form so that it takes the barcode, saves, and loads the form again to add another related item. I have all of this working except for the related item. The second time I use the form, it's just adding an unrelated item.

I don't have an answer to your exact question, but would scanning the Bar Codes into a Grid Edit form on the Parent work for you?  ie, set the Form Proprties for the embedded Child Table to be editable?

Or else make a URL formula button to Add Similar on the Child form so the Related Parent would Copy across. You can then set field properties of the other data entry fields to not be copied when doing Add Similar. I believe the field for Related Parent or a Proxy for it will need to be editable on the form to get it to populate.
