Can you change where you are redirected to on the native "save" and "cancel" actions? These are buttons available on the record action bar.

The redirection is set based on where you came from.  If you can describe your problem, there may be a solution.

Without some special coding, this is not likely possible natively.

Have you considered building custom-buttons which will redirect your User to where you want them to go. For instance "Save & goto Home Page" which is a formula-URL which will save the record and then redirect the User to the location you have chosen. In this type of setup; you might have multiple buttons allowing a User to more easily choose where they want to end up (either a Report, a table dashboard, or the application dashboard for example).

What is the formula for "Save and Go to Home page"?

Hi, been out of pocket for a little bit. I am using a formula url button ( with API_GenAddRecordForm) on a form sitting on one table (Project request) to create a record in a second table (Projects). The button click opens up the Project form populated with some data that I carry over from the project request record, but I have learnt (and told by QB support) that a record is not created until I click on the native "Save" button. And the Save button click redirects me back to where I came from, which is the project request form. Is there an alternate API call that will open up a form to populate record data and create this record simultaneously so I can stay on this form and finish populating the record?

Krishna,

If you want to open up an Add record form, save and "stick", then all you need to do is to remove the

& "&z=" & Rurl()

from the end of the typical Add record formula URL.

If you would prefer to actually create the record and go to it and stick on it in View mode, then instead of

API_GenAddRecordForm

use

API_AddRecord and then as the last parameter include

&disprec=1

In English I translate that to mean and Display the record = true.

Thanks Mark! Can I modify the Add record call to create the record and display the record in edit mode?

I don't believe so.  The Help does not list that as a parameter.   http://www.quickbase.com/user-assistance/Default.html#../api-guide/add_record.html
