We have an automatic notification that runs through an app. The executives were asking if we could embed a sound file or have it automatically play when opened?

Most email clients strip <audio> tags from a HTML email message.
Rob...You can certainly include links to your files in the emails. The file could reside in Quick Base or outside. Whether you want to do that or not, it is up to you, though and the business rules around it. May be you want to publish your podcasts in your emails. Now if you want to attach the actual mp3 file, native quickbase notifications presently do not (as of today) support that and you may have to rely on third party products such as juiced technologies or the like.
