i want to create a formula field that has the following choices but when a there's a category that is not on the list, it creates the new category.

eg. category: supermarket, box retail,  convenient store

new category: grocery

thus categories will be now: supermarket, box retail,  convenient store, grocery

if column 1=SP, "Supermarket"

if column 2=BR, "box retail"

if column 3= CS, "convenient store"

,*ELSE* ..... *dont know what to put here or maybe something that will let it create a new category (GC = grocery) and so on*

thank you in advance for your help!

Why does this need to be a formula? Can't you use Text - Multiple choice?

So that QB will be the one labeling the data instead of entering it one by one.
