Wondering if I could automatically create a task from another table once a check list field is clicked. This table as well as task table has parent table Project.

Where are you checking the 'checkbox'?
How do you determine which task gets made?

This is possible, and usually is done through a template task, but you have to know which task (or task list) to create.

can you expound on your question? or was it just a question of if it is possible.

Thanks Matt. I have projects table linking to two tables as parent.  In one table, let us call it Design, once a field is checked, I would like this action to create a record in the task table with pre defined task name and a week after the modified date.

Arshad,

This can be done with a Webhook.

But setting up your first Webhook is not for the faint of heart and they are tricky to trouble shoot.   Usually my clients need me to do this for them or at least run a training session for them with examples as you need to be a fairly geeky / programmer type to just figure them out from the available documentation without having seen examples.

The Webhook also needs to deal with the possibility that the checkbox was checked using Grid Edit in which case we need to create multiple children all at once - we we use the API_ImportCSV api do do that.

I have dealt with web hooks previously.  Yes it is not straight forward. Will talk when you are free.
