Hi.

I wanted to know:  If I delete a user from our app, what will happen to reports and any data that was added by that user?  Will those reports and data be lost, or is it safe to delete inactive users without worrying about what data may be taken with them.

Data will never be lost.

However, if the user created Personal reports, easy access to those reports will be lost.  The Personal reports still exist, it is just that it is very awkward to get at them.

Thank you for the fast and helpful response.  I will make a backup of our app before deleting anything - just in case!  While you are here, I would also like to know if you can recommend any automated backup plugins/apps that we can use to do daily backups of our app.

Many thanks,
Mike

QuickBase retains daily backups for several weeks and then weekly backups for quite a few weeks and then monthly backups for quite a few months.  They charge, I believe, $50 per month to subscribe to essentially backup recovery insurance in case you need to recover lost data or even a damaged application.  You would need to put in a Ticket under HELP, Manage Cases to talk with someone at QuickBase about that. Most of my clients do that.  There is software to do local backups, but in my experience, this is typically only done with larger companies who have IT departments who insist on having local backups to be sure that "own" the data locally.

I am not personally familiar with doing local backups, but it might be this

If you want to pursue that, then you might want to post a new question to ask if that link is the most current information.

Thank you so much for the thorough answer.  I think we will look at a subscription service to keep our data secure.

Kind Regards
Mike
