In our app "Time Clock" I have successfully modified the app for the user "Time Manager" to ensure that once the person logs in that person cannot modify the time. However, now it won't let the person "log out". The permissions don't seem that granular that it would effect one button in that form but not the other. Please advise.

Hi Kim,

It sounds like you're working with the ABC Daily Time Cards app from the QuickBase Exchange (https://intuitcorp.quickbase.com/db/main?a=AppDetail&ID=463&app_name=ABC%20Daily%20Time%20Cards). If so, to prevent users from editing their log in times, you'll want to hide the Log in/Out table from them. You can do this by checking all the green checkmarks for that table under the User Interface tab of the role settings (Hide in Table Bar, Hide Add Button/Links, etc).

The other change you'll need to make is to hide the View/Edit icons on the embedded report. To do that, you can:

1. Open the Daily Time Cards table and view one of the records.

2. Click Customize this Form.

3. Find the Time Cards field in the elements list. By default this is line 12 of the form.

4. On the right side, under 'Base the display on the report', click Report...

A pop-up appears.

5. Scroll down, and under Options, uncheck Allow editing records from this report and Allow viewing records from this report.

6. Click Save and close the pop-up.

7. Save the form to finish.

Thanks,

Brian
