Is there a way like distinct count in a formula text field? I have a table with user data. I want to a Column where I want to add 1 if the company is the first time in the db... if another user is also listed in this table from the same company I dont want to add 1 to the new column. SO that i easy count later the 1 in the new column to get the number of unique companies... I know that I can use a new Table and Group or to use Summary Table but I want to show these Result in a chart with other values like number of users, number of etc,...

Hope you understand my problem and I hope that there is a solution for this problem.

Thanks

My suggestion is to "do it right" and set up a table of Companies.  Then make a relationship where 1 Company has many User datas.  Each time you add a user you will select the company that they are with or else add a new company to the list if necessary.

Well, you can have the Key field to the Company table be the Company name, and then make a summary report by Company name.  From time to time you would use the More button to copy this report to another table, that being your company table, where it will have a list of unique Companies.  That assumes, of course, that your company names come in spelled consistently, which is unlikely.  So there may need to still be some manual cleanup of multiple entries for what is really the same company.
