Do Duration formulas take into account changes due to Daylight Savings Time (or would duration formulas add or subtract an hour)?

In my application, I use a (change) form rule to capture the start time and finish time in separate date/time fields.  I use formula duration fields to subtract the start time from the end time.  In the event daylight savings, would this not add or subtract an hour from the duration?  If so, is there a way to avoid this?

QuickBase's duration functions are smart enough to calculate the accurate number of hours between two date/times even if the duration includes a lost (or extra) hour due to daylight savings. A date/time field includes a time zone, so QB will know whether and when DST applies, if your app is set to the proper time zone.
