I have a table report which lists records in a parent and grandparent table. In the grandparent table I can set the field properties to 'display as link to the related record' but the link actually links to the parent record, not grandparent.

Is this not possible?

Thank you!

Can you post a screen shot or better explain.  I don't understand what you mean that you have a table report that lists records in two tables (parent and grandparent).

I think that you mean that you have a table report that has a field which is a link to parent and another field which is a link to the Grandparent.

I think that you will need to build your own hyperlink field.

Here is an example of a formula

var text Words = [some field that has the words for the link];
var text URL = urlroot() & "db/" & [_DBID of the grandparent table] & "?a=dr&rid=" & ToText([Record ID# of the Grandparent record]);

"<a href=" & $URL & ">" & $Words & "</a>"

Hi, Mark!

Sorry to explain weirdly, but I think your answer helps. I'll try and post if it doesn't work.

Thank you!

Er, hmm.

So, I've created a Formula URL field (right?) with the following:

var text Words = [Mtg Date+Type];
var text URL = urlroot() & "db/" & [_DBID_TABLE_1] & "?a=dr&rid=" & ToText([Meeting ID]);

But I'm getting a syntax error - 'formula cannot end with an assignment to a variable declaration.'

To explain in full, my tables are: Meetings < Projects < Tasks

In a report for task records I have a field 'Date+Type' for Meetings, but when made a link, it goes to the parent Project, when I want it to go to the grandparent Meeting record.

Thank you!

The field type should be formula text with html enabled checkboxed. Sorry I left that out.

Also it would be helpful to use all my formula.  :)
Please also add in that last line which makes use of those 2 formula variables you created.
