Hi,
Could you tell me a bit more about your table structure and how your application is set up?
From the looks of your message, you have a user that can be assigned a specific task.  Are users and tasks in two separate tables?

hi,
yes this is true, so we use the application as action tracker and i'm the admin, mostly i;m the one assigning the tasks, users and tasks are in same table,  i would like each user receive daily mail in the morning telling him/her what are the actions due for today and what are the new actions starting today.

Hi Gina,
I'm trying to get a complete feel of your table so I don't say anything incorrect.
What it sounds like to me is that you've got a "Tasks" table, however on each individual task you can assign a user.  Is the field where you assign a user a text field or is it an actual user field which links to a quickbase field?  Either wouldn't matter, however it would make the process of setting up email notifications a bit easier.

I'll go ahead and explain the process, however if your table is set up differently, I may be completely misguided.
You'll want to go into the settings tab on your table and click on new notification.  This will be a notification, not a subscription or reminder.
If your users are in a textbox, you'll have to create multiple notifications for each user.  You will want your notification to look like the following... http://i.imgur.com/XdvcUu6.png

If your users are in a user-field, you will remove the user filter, and change notify whom to notify the user in your user field.
Hopefully this has helped.

Gina,
On the notification, notify whom should read an option "Notify email associated with the user: <your user field>" <your user field> being the user field on your form.

i think i'm not clear enough :), i need 1 mail for each user to be sent daily which has the below data:
1. list of due date actions for tomorrow
2. list of actions starting tomorrow

noting that those actions are pre-set (recurring) so i don't add or modify actions as they are preset.

Oh!

Well then, your solution is quite easy, however may require a bit of work to start depending on how many users you have- although someone may offer a better solution.

See Answer Below

Not the most elegant of methods, however it would accomplish what you're trying to do... I think.

Gina, What you will want to do is to make a single report with the following filters.

Where all of the following are true

Where task assigned to is "the current user"

Where any of the following are true (indented)

Due date is tommorow
Start date is tomorrow

Then set up a Role Based daily subscription to all users who are in a role who may have tasks assigned to them.

Each user will only see their own tasks as the report is filtered on task assigned to current user.  The QuickBase subscription engine is smart enough to send each user their own tasks.

This is not a Notification. This is a Subscription.  You are subscribing all members of a Role to receive a daily overnight report.
