I have three tables:

Companies > Locations > Contacts

A summary field in the Companies table lists the # of Contacts for a Company, but when it's clicked on, it's takes the user to a list of the Locations, which then has another summary field users would need click on to see the list of Contacts at each Company, but users instead want to see a list of all Contacts at Company when they click on the summary field from the Companies table.

Is this possible? If so, how?

Thank you!

Connect Companies to Contacts.  Then pull the summary field from the Contacts table.  The new summary field will pull you directly to the contacts.

Make sure the distinguish the difference in the summary fields, and be aware that new relationships will most likely create new fields / 'add buttons' on your forms.  Making the new fields required or conditional drop-down menus would be recommended.  Also you will want to maintain the process of adding contacts via locations, and not directly from companies.

For posterity--here are the steps I took to add summary fields that link to grandparent records:

1. bring grandparent reference ID from parent into grandchild table
2. relate table directly to grandparent
3. in relationship, bring all summary fields you'll need into grandparent and remove 'add records' field
4. in relationship, change grandchild reference ID field type to 'numeric summary'
5. make the formula for the above field [reference ID field for grandparent as brought through parent table]

Thanks!
