Is there anyway to have QB deliver a text to someones cell phone if a certain field changes?  I have a system with people and their cell numbers in QB and I want if a certain field is updated it alerts a user via text so if they are on the go or traveling they can see the update on phone without logging in.  Is there any possible way of doing this?

You can create a Notification that is OPEN.

When you got to settings and notifications and click the Create a new Email button, the first property is "Permission Type" and for this choose Open.

This will make it able to send notifications to non-users (text) and please be aware this means you need to be careful because the role based permissions are overridden.

List the people to send the texts to as email addresses.  You will need to know the mobile carriers to do this then look up how to email them,  for example to send an email that a Verizon Wireless user will receive as a text, use the 10 digit phone number plus @vtext.com   - 5555555555@vtext.com   no spaces of dashes.

Thanks for this it's good to see this is possible.  Whewre do you find a list of the mobile carriers?  For At&t would you just use 5555555555att@text.com

Use Google, Bing or whatever search engine you prefer and type in "email to text" which will give you a list of places to go to find out who each carrier works.  AT&T is 555555555@txt.att.net

I don't believe you will ever have anything left of the @ other than the 10 digits
