How can I create a formula date field to describe a specific date that will be used in other calculations in other fields? For example July 1, 2016, always for all lines?

I don't want to calculate this date, I want it to be fixed and I don't want it to default to "today".

If you need this field value to be app-wide; you can create a text variable which you can then reference in a formula field in any table you create.  This is particularly helpful when the tables are not all connected so you can't pass down a formula field from one table to another.

The variable (found in your HOME settings page) would be "07-01-2016" and be labelled with a value with no spaces like "XYZDate"

Your formula-date fields in the tables would be ToDate([XYZDate])
