How can I create a url button in the child table that edits its parent record on a different form?

In my child table (_DBID_TICKET_SYSTEM) I want to be able to add and edit a particular form containing fields from the parent table (_DBID_ CLIENTS).

I have the following formula on a button in the Ticket System:

URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_CLIENTS] & "?a=er&dfid=23&rid="& [Related Client]

but it keeps coming up "Campaign Not Found, It has probably been deleted." It has not been deleted. I've tried using the field [Client - Related Client] which is the reference field in the Ticket System and get the same error.

The Key field in the Client table is Client Name (not my choice but something I have to work with before I fix it all) and the Key field from the Ticket System is the Record ID#. Not sure if this would affect my formula.

Any ideas?

Thanks! Dawn

Try this

URLRoot() & "db/" & [_DBID_CLIENTS] & "?a=er&dfid=23&key="& [Related Client]

(change rid to key)

Quick question: what do I need to add to redirect it back to the original ticket after I save in the client table?
