How can I prevent users from editing a form after a certain date?

I have a form which has an EIS(Estimated in Service) Date.  After the date, I would like to prevent users from making any changes to that form.

I know I can create dynamic rules which will make fields read only but is there a more efficient way to do this?  Some of my forms have 100+ fields and creating read only actions for each of them is time consuming and error prone.

Thanks!

No problem

Set up a formula checkbox field called [OK to Edit]

if([EIS Date]<today(), false, true)

Then for certain Roles set up a Custom permission Rule for editing

where [OK to Edit] is checked.
