I would like to use a formula to display the User Name as a nickname or initials in a report. This is my formula so far, but it is so far not working. I'm not sure if it is a formula error or a syntax error.

If (Contains(UserToName([Sales Manager]), "User Name 1"), "RF",

Contains(UserToName([Sales Manager]), "User Name 2"), "JS",

Contains(UserToName([Sales Manager]), "User Name 3"), "MM",

Contains(UserToName([Sales Manager]), "User Name 4"), "BE",

Contains(UserToName([Sales Manager]), "User Name 5"), "CB",

Contains(UserToName([Sales Manager]), "User Name 6"), "Mac",

Contains(UserToName([Sales Manager]), "User Name 7"), "RD",

"")

You may want use the email address instead - since that's less likely to have variations than the user name.

Case ( UserToEmail([Sales Manager]),

"rf@company.com", "RF",

"js@company.com", "JS",

"mm@company.com", "MM",

"be@company.com", "BE",

"cb@company.com", "CB",

"mac@company.com", "Mac",

"rd@company.com", "RD",

""
