I want to add a button to create a new record (customized) called an RFP (different from our "new projects" button).  We created a form already for this, but I need to get a button on the home page next to the "new projects" button that goes directly to this special form.

The form ID: 11

Table ID: Projects

and I tried using this: https://companyX.quickbase.com/db/Projects?a=nwr&dfid=11

however, I still am getting an error message.  Again, creating a URL button, but it's not working.

Thank you!

In your URL you have the word Projects.  is that what is really there or do you have the table id like about an 8 characters random alphnumeric string.  It needs to have the actual URL, not a formula and not the word projects.

the Official "Table Name" is "Projects" but the alias is "_DBID_PROJECTS"

The url on a dashboard needs to have the same URL you see in the URL bar at the top of the AddRecord form.  Not an alias, Not the word project.  it needs to be a copy and paste of the exact URL.

Take the URL that you see what you "ADD NEW" and copy it to the dashboard, but suffix it with &dfid=11

Hello Dennis!

Unfortunately it should be that simple!  Try the following code below, however swap out the bold to your information.

https://COMPANY.quickbase.com/db/bhkkqamev?a=API_GenAddRecordForm&dfid=11

COMPANY you will swap out with your quickbase company name.

bhkkqamevyou will swap out with your table id.  You can find this by copying it from the URL when you are on that table's homepage.

Use this URL for the button on the homepage and you should have no issues!

Regards,

Scott
