Every record saved by QuickBase has a field called [Record ID#] which is a unique number. That is the perfect number to use! If you like you can rename it t to be a word that makes sense in your organization. Ticket#, Complaint #, Issue#
you will not break anything by renaming the field. The number is assigned as soon as the record is saved.
