In the formula below, I have double quotes to represent "is blank"

I thought I could use "<>" to represent "is not blank" but it's not working. I've made that part of the formula bold below.

The two If statements work independently and I'm trying to put the Case around it. Thoughts on how I represent "is not blank" here? Thank you!

Case([Rating], "",

If([Premieres]= "Yes", "<event>\n
" & [Title] & "
\n<date>(Premieres "&[Event Date in Full] &", "&[Experience Type] & " – "& [Duration] & ")</date>\n
" & [Overview] & "
\n<eventPath text=\"" & [CTA] & "\">" & [link] & "</eventPath>\n<imagePath>" & [imagePath] & "</imagePath>\n<videoPath/>\n<rating/>\n<podCastPath/>\n</event>", [Premieres]= "No", "<event>\n
" & [Title] & "
\n<date>("&[Experience Type] & " – "& [Duration] & ")</date>\n
" & [Overview] & "
\n<eventPath text=\"" & [CTA] & "\">" & [link] & "</eventPath>\n<imagePath>" & [imagePath] & "</imagePath>\n<videoPath/>\n<rating/>\n<podCastPath/>\n</event>"),

"<>",

If([Premieres]= "Yes", "<event>\n
" & [Title] & "
\n<date>(Premieres "&[Event Date in Full] &", "&[Experience Type] & " – "& [Duration] & ")</date>\n
" & [Overview] & "
\n<eventPath text=\"" & [CTA] & "\">" & [link] & "</eventPath>\n<imagePath>" & [imagePath] & "</imagePath>\n<videoPath/>\n<rating>" & [Rating] & "</rating>\n<podCastPath/>\n</event>", [Premieres]= "No", "<event>\n
" & [Title] & "
\n<date>("&[Experience Type] & " – "& [Duration] & ")</date>\n
" & [Overview] & "
\n<eventPath text=\"" & [CTA] & "\">" & [link] & "</eventPath>\n<imagePath>" & [imagePath] & "</imagePath>\n<videoPath/>\n<rating>" & [Rating] & "</rating>\n<podCastPath/>\n</event>"))

If there was a field called [My text field] on Record #ID 31 and it was blank or was full of spaces which look like blanks to Users as they don't have X-ray vision then

IF(Trim([My text field])="",true)

would return true.

I like to use Trim, just in case the field has some spaces in it.

if you wanted to test for not blank, then this would return true of the field was not blank

IF(Trim([My text field])<>"",true)

try this

IF([Rating] = "",

If([Premieres]= "Yes", "<event>\n
" & [Title] & "
\n<date>(Premieres "&[Event Date in Full] &", "&[Experience Type] & " – "& [Duration] & ")</date>\n
" & [Overview] & "
\n<eventPath text=\"" & [CTA] & "\">" & [link] & "</eventPath>\n<imagePath>" & [imagePath] & "</imagePath>\n<videoPath/>\n<rating/>\n<podCastPath/>\n</event>", [Premieres]= "No", "<event>\n
" & [Title] & "
\n<date>("&[Experience Type] & " – "& [Duration] & ")</date>\n
" & [Overview] & "
\n<eventPath text=\"" & [CTA] & "\">" & [link] & "</eventPath>\n<imagePath>" & [imagePath] & "</imagePath>\n<videoPath/>\n<rating/>\n<podCastPath/>\n</event>"),

If([Premieres]= "Yes", "<event>\n
" & [Title] & "
\n<date>(Premieres "&[Event Date in Full] &", "&[Experience Type] & " – "& [Duration] & ")</date>\n
" & [Overview] & "
\n<eventPath text=\"" & [CTA] & "\">" & [link] & "</eventPath>\n<imagePath>" & [imagePath] & "</imagePath>\n<videoPath/>\n<rating>" & [Rating] & "</rating>\n<podCastPath/>\n</event>", [Premieres]= "No", "<event>\n
" & [Title] & "
\n<date>("&[Experience Type] & " – "& [Duration] & ")</date>\n
" & [Overview] & "
\n<eventPath text=\"" & [CTA] & "\">" & [link] & "</eventPath>\n<imagePath>" & [imagePath] & "</imagePath>\n<videoPath/>\n<rating>" & [Rating] & "</rating>\n<podCastPath/>\n</event>"))
