HOW DO I SHOW ONLY RECORDS ASSIGNED TO CERTAIN USERS IN A ROLE SO THAT WHEN THEY LOG IN THE ONLY SEE WHAT PERTAINS TO THEM?

I need to be able to show users only what is assigned to them. I know how to give them access to records they submitted but what if i wanted them to see certain records in a table that someone else submitted.

If you have a User field, or List User field in the table (I'm assuming you do or how else would you know who the record was assigned to) you should create a report with a filter  that only shows records where that field contains the current user.  For example, if the the name of the field is "Assigned to" you should add a filter condition of "Assigned to is the current user"

In this way the same report will show each user only their assigned records.  Put that report on the home page for that role and you have a customized task list for every user.
