how to make a field a filter?

I have a field called Assigned To and it is a drop down field.  I would like a user of a report to be able to filter the report to only see items assigned to one use in the Assign To field

I'm not sure if your field for Assigned To is a multiple choice field or a drop down of Users, but either way, as long as the field is checkboxes in its Properties to be Searchable, it will be available to use as a dynamic filter on a report.  So you can just edit the report to have it use that field as a dynamic filter.

The other option is to make a report with an <ask the user> filter and the user will run he report and answer that question,

The field is a List - user field and from the report I went into properties for that field and I do not see an option to make it searchable.  Am I looking in the wrong place?

The field is a List-User field and I went into the form, selected Assigned To field, looked at properties and I don't see a section to check where it says to make it searchable.  Am I looking in the wrong place?

There is a checkbox called Searchable in the field properties for that field type, List-User, but I do not think that field is eligible to be used as a Dynamic Filter.  You can contact me off line via the information in my profile to discuss alternatives.
