I have created a child table in a separate application. The parent table is related, but there is no embedded report in the parent record for the related children. Is this a limitation of cross-application relationships?

You do not need a relationship to create a Report Link field. Just create a new field of type Report Link and configure its field properties to match in the common fields in each table.

Thank you QuickBaseCoach, but how do I make sure it is an embedded report rather than a link. Normally when creating a relationship between a parent and child tables, an embedded report and 'add new record' button are automatically added to the parent table. This did not occur when relating across two applications. Any suggestions/advice?

Did you make a report link field type field after reading my McDonald’s analogy in the link to a similar question?

Did you put it on the form?

Did you set the field properties to display the records on the form as opposed to just a link..

I’m not sure where you got stuck in the steps.
